Others, like AdBlocker Ultimate, take a more aggressive approach. ![]() Some ad blockers, such as AdBlock Plus include filters and the ability to let in non-obtrusive advertising. Do you just want to stop annoying pop-up ads from appearing or do you want the full range of services, including privacy features and an end to ad-tracking? Grab the ad blocker that ticks off all the boxes on your wishlist. You can narrow down your choice in ad blockers by deciding specifically what you're looking to accomplish with such an app or extension. You should also figure out if a browser extension will take care of your ad-blocking needs or whether you should consider switching browsers to one with more built-in privacy features. Determine if the free services provide enough ad-blocking to meet your needs or whether a paid app delivers more for your money. Many of the best ad blockers are available for free, either as extensions or as standalone apps, though a few, like AdLock, charge a fee. The usual caveats apply: Browsing through Tor will slow down the web experience, and some features, like video streams and video files won’t work in order to preserve anonymity.ĭownload Onion Browser: iOS How to choose the best ad blocker for you ![]() Previously a premium app, Onion Browser has since moved to a donation model, opening up access to everyone who wants to download the app, without compromising security or features. The headline feature of the extension is integrating the card recommendations across 1000s of e-commerce sites, and users can even add sites that aren't included in the defaults.Īnd for users with Amex Offers, another feature of the extension is a modal window when viewing the Amex Offers site to let users select 100 offers in one tap (previously each one had to be tapped individually).Įverything is done on-device, and 0 browser history is shared off-device.IOS users aren’t left out when it comes to browsing the Tor anonymizer network, with the Onion Browser among the more popular options on Apple’s mobile OS. Hi all, u/iFeIix I just launched a public TestFlight for CardPointers 3.0, and a large chunk of work these last few months has been on the Safari Web Extension.ĬardPointers helps users maximize their existing credit card benefits (cash back, points, and offers) by helping them use the right one for every purchase. For some people it is truly a tool/kind of an accessibility feature. Its just that for now, I think its not yet ready or as good as the other extension in that department, but I truly appreciate your effort as the first extension in that category to be available as testing over TestFlight.Īnd I 100% agree this feature should be available for everyone by default because its not only for aesthetic purpose. You're not that far from a good experience. For all I can say right now is the Night mode won't work on all the websites or sometimes the buttons are unreadable no matter the colours you chose. Yes, I'll continue to test it and will bring feedback to your extension. In fact, I know night mode is a relatively new feature of this extension and I know its currently on the beta state but for current everyday use, I think its not yet ready, but I'm glad the devs reads Reddit post like this. ![]() I really appreciate your comment and I didn't wanted to denigrate the Turns of the lights app. I take all the feedback very seriously, as this browser extension is built up with feedback since the year 2009. Please feedback in the TestFlight app about your experience, and where you find a bug or bad feeling. And the TestFlight is the next version that is more mobile-friendly and where the night mode experience is even better for the mobile users. However, the current Turn Off the Lights Safari extension on the Mac is not the latest version. Turn Off the Lights Safari extension code is the same for Mac and iOS. So it is free and Open-Source and it is available in all browser stores. I believe this accessibility tool should be available for everyone. And the developer can only set the price for both platforms Mac and iOS. And upload a new package to the App Store. The developer must manually create a new iOS app. When you have a Mac Safari extension, that will not be automatically available to iOS. I appreciate you test the next version of the Turn Off the Lights Safari extension for iOS 15. ![]()
